The Resume Line That Gets Backend Engineers Rejected
"Worked on backend features" tells a recruiter nothing. Here's what to write instead.
Vague resume bullets are the single most common reason strong engineers get filtered out before a human ever reads their code. "Worked on backend features" could mean anything from a one-line bug fix to architecting a payments system.
Rewrite every bullet around a measurable outcome: what did you build, what constraint did you solve for, and what changed as a result? Specificity signals seniority.
